to be honest, i think that instead of killing it entirely, adobe should've made flash free and open source so someone could pick it up and continue to maintain it.

for its time, flash was the most advanced and beloved animation software and multimedia platform. it still is a really good animation program tbh, despite it being deprecated by adobe.

my favorite thing about flash is that it's vector-based. you could move, resize and rotate objects, all without losing quality. this made the process of animation in it waaay more efficient.

there's a project in development codenamed "blast" by bill on newgrounds, which is an animation program that aims to have great compatibility with flash (in other words, modern adobe flash), though he uses claude to assist with its development, if that's a dealbreaker to you.
